Positively Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

It's October and the 4PR events team staged a 'Positively Pink' evening for client Methven who as a sponsor of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation wanted to share the spirit and message of 'Pink October' with their valued female clients. The evening presented an information seminar from NZBCF to push home the 'early detection is the best protection' and then in the spirit of women coming together for an evening there was a 'Shades of Pink' fashion show by renowned New Zealand designer and businesswoman, Annah Stretton. The beautiful pink designs were modelled by young talent from Catwalk Studios whilst guests enjoyed pink grapefruit juice and pink Sofia bubbles.

Magical Malaysia

Tracey Mehrtens takes part in a media famil to Malaysia and heads on location to some new hot spots in one of her favourite destinations......

"Talk about making good use of space. Who would have ever thought that an old quarry could be transformed into an entertainment mecca; complete with water theme park, zoo, mini-Disneyland fun park and huge hotel spilling down the side of the quarry. The flying fox that runs off to the right of this bridge at Sunway Lagoon Resort and Spa, just out of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, whizzes over the giant wave pool depositing you ever nicely in front of a bar – a bottle of Tiger beer is a must after working up such a sweat!"

Picking up the PAICE for New Caledonia

The 4PR events team picked up PAICE for New Caledonia operators at the annual Pacific Asia Incentive & Conference Expo held in August at Auckland's Eden Park in August. The carpeted stand area was transformed into a turqoise and white chic South Pacific scape complete with sandy fringe. Professional conference organisers and incentive organisers were treated to not only first hand information from the 8 visiting operators but also to tropical fresh fruit kebabs dunked in a white chocolate fountain - which like many visitors to the stand Tracey found too tempting to resist!

Footprints Network Media Launch 16 August

Leading tech, travel and business media gathered for a private luncheon at Pasha for the New Zealand launch of the Footprints Network www.footprints.org.au - the online ready made corporate social responsibility programme where every dollar in equates to every dollar out toward supporting a range of projects in impoverished countries around the world - and no, not a dollar of donor money was spent on lunch!
Now we can talk about lunch...Chef Simon Gault excelled himself with a sumptuous set menu that started with the ultimate VIP party icebreaker - licking a crazy combo of white chocolate mousse, heaped with caviar off your hand! A very grown up variation on the old lick, suck, sip Tequila concept....only far less toxic and far tastier.
Footprints is already talking to New Zealand e commerce providers to provide their customers with the opportunity to give a little change to make a big difference. The lunch was organised by 4PR together with Sydney affiliate agency S2i communications - see ww.S2i.com.au with a presentation by Simon Monk, Footprints Network Founder and Christy McCarthy Footprints Relationships Manager.

on location - Club Med Ria Bintan, Indonesia

Louise went on location to Club Med Ria Bintan to showcase this region and another great Club Med resort to New Zealand media. In addition to guest media stories, Louise also wrote about her own experiences both on and off course in Bintan. 'Beauty and the Beast ' of Bintan is her first hand amateur golfing account on Asia's top course and published in the October issue of NZ Golf Magazine. Resort life at Club Med on the shores of the South China Sea will be featured in the October issue of Holiday Shoppe's on location magazine - FREE from Holiday Shoppe locations throughout New Zealand or click on to www.holidayshoppe.co.nz

Media do work on famils!

They might be affectionately referred to as 'junkets' but there was no rest at cocktail hour for media on this famil to Club Med Ria Bintan....Dominion Post photographer Craig Simcox reviews Louise's village snaps whilst travel writer Megan Singleton takes stock of her stories on screen.

The Blogger of Bintan

Travel writer and travel blogger extraordinaire, Megan Singleton didnt even put her laptop away for cocktails - hard at it filing stories and her regular travel blog for House of Travel on the Club Med media famil to Ria Bintan. On site tips from Megan included how to eat buffet style - and yes, there is a knack to it and it does not include piling your plate a mile high!

Gisborne Media Famil, February/March 2007

4PR together with Tourism Eastland and local operators hosted the reigons largest and most successful single media famil to date. Staying at Gisborne's Emerald Hotel, the group represented the cream of the glossies in New Zealand media and each spent the three days pursuing individually tailored itineraries which showcased a veritable bounty of stories that exist in this region. For many editors the trip simply delivered too much content and was to the delight of the region that in many cases more than one feature story was produced from the visit. A couple of very special activities were shared as a group and these included hand stingray feeding by simply walking out on the reef at Dive Tatapouri with eco-marine host extraordinaire, Dean Savage. The photographers were not left wanting either- and how could they be? Gisborne, the first city to see the light produces exceptional sunrises which were greatly admired from the Dive Tatapouri ocean side base - and enjoyed all the more with a glass of bubbly over breakfast around a huge outdoor fire.
